Hi Parents,

A few reminders:

We have a lot of reminders to send to you, but, first, I feel we would be remiss in not taking a moment to pray for the survivors in the ravished country of Haiti. I am sure, that you, like me are heartbroken, looking at the scenes of the destruction. It is hard to comprehend that 200,000 people were killed ? 5 times the population of Ormond Beach!! I am sure that all of your churches and synagogues, like us, are taking up collections ( money) to send to the Haiti Relief fund, and I know that you will all reach out and help all you can. I came across this prayer by Bradley Burston, of the Israel News Org., and would like to share it with you.

A prayer for the people of Haiti, who on a good day, must take heroic measures just to wake the next, and who must now find a way to live through the end of the world:

Compassionate One,
Whose relief work is beyond our capabilities
Breathe life today into those buried alive and
strengthen the response capacity
of your relief workers in this world
To hear those who have yet to be saved,
To hear those who have been saved, but whose limbs and lives are crushed
To hear those who pray for those who can no longer pray for themselves.

Compassionate One,
Give strength to the people of Haiti, who on this day
take heroic measures just to survive,
And with the world?s help, will find a way to live into a new world,
though rebuilt on the rubble of unfathomable loss.
